Bait-Checker digitizes Pest Control. Primarily, this means protecting supplies and goods from the exponential growth of harmful rodents. With our IoT solution, we aim to make the analog craft of pest control smarter, more digital, and more efficient.

We, Lukas, Nick and Martin - the founders of Bait-Checker have already received our first investment through Chemovator GmbH. Our vision is to simplify the control of every imaginable pest species through our products and thus protect our food supplies of tomorrow. We are now almost ready to start this journey, the only thing we are missing is you!

We have a CoWorking Space in Dresden where you are welcome to work or drop by! Otherwise, remote working is not a problem for us at all.

Your tasks

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer who is passionate about developing software that has a positive impact on society. As a Software Developer at BaitChecker, you will work closely with us to develop our software. The goal is to collect, analyze, and display data from our IoT devices.

Responsibilities:

• You will decide which technology stack is relevant for us and be instrumental in the development of our software
• Design and implement software solutions for our IoT devices using relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools
• Collaborate with Nick, our hardware engineer, to design and implement the communication between hardware and software components.
• Manage and organize data collected from our IoT devices using relevant database management systems
• Architect and maintain cloud-based solutions that can handle large amounts of data and scale as the business grows
• Developing web and mobile applications that can access and display data collected from our IoT devices
• Implement DevOps practices and tools to ensure software reliability, scalability, and security

Your profile

• Team player - you're a hands-on guy and are bent on building something together with us
• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or you can equivalently demonstrate a track record of your recent projects
• You have built systems before, which are on the market. Ideally IoT systems and you are not afraid of big data
• Proven skills in programming languages such as C, Python, Java or JavaScript or others
• Fluent in English, German is a plus

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP and Bluetooth is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Proficiency with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue and back-end frameworks such as Node.js, Django or Ruby on Rails
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins or CircleCI
